100th Anniversary
On March 12, 1912, Juliette Gordon Low founded Girl Scouts of the USA. To celebrate this historic moment, many events are occurring. Won't you join us in celebrating?
March 12 - Legislative Celebration
Both Louisiana Councils are coming together for a Legislative Celebration at State Capitol. During this event, a Rededication Ceremony for the Honorary Troop Louisiana will take place. The members will sign the Year of the Girl Pledge.

March 15 - Our Girls, Our Future Luncheon
All Girl Scout alumnae, friends, and volunteers are invited to the council's 100th anniversary fundraising luncheon from 12 to 1 p.m. (meet and greet at 11:30 a.m.) at the Lod Cook Alumni Center on the LSU campus in Baton Rouge. Diane Deaton, Weathercaster for WAFB Ch. 9 in Baton Rouge will serve as the Mistress of Ceremonies. Click here for more information.
March 17 - GSLExtravaganza presented by Winn-Dixie
Join us at the Lamar Dixon Expo Center as we celebrate 100 years of Girl Scouting! Games and food items will be available for individual purchase at carnival booths. Click here for more information.

March 24 & 25 - Painting with a Purpose
Corks n Canvas and Painting with a Twist have teamed up to celebrate 100 years of Girl Scouting. Fifty percent of the proceeds of Painting with a Purpose will be donated to our council. The event is open to the public, so it's the perfect opportunity to invite your friends to enjoy a day of fun, while supporting Girl Scouts. Children, under 21, are welcome, but must be accompanied by a parent. Click here for more information.
June 23 - FOREver Green Golf Tournament
Join us for 9 a.m. Tee Time, 9 hole golf tournament at Stonebridge Golf Club of New Orleans. Click here for more information.
June 23 - Rhapsody in Green: A Night of Glitz and Glamour Centennial Gala
Join us for a night of live music by Gina Brown & Anutha Level, cocktails, food, and a silent auction at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside.
Now, we can't hold all these events without your help, so if you’d like to help with our 100th anniversary events, contact the council office via phone (800) 644-7571, email, or in person, and we’ll gladly accept your help! There’s something for everybody, so if you’re a Girl Scout—or you were a Girl Scout, or love a Girl Scout, or just love a party—come join Girl Scouts as we celebrate our birthday and make plans for the second century of Girl Scouting in America.
