Open to girls not yet in Girl Scouting, in grades 4-5
Girls are invited to participate in Girls Get Moving, one of Girl Scouts Louisiana East’s most exciting science and technology programs, in partnership with the New Orleans Public Library on the fourth Saturday in January and February. During the two-day program, girls will conduct science experiments, observe animal energy, and even design the car of the future.
When: Saturdays, January 25 and February 22, 2014. Girls are expected to attend both days.
Time: 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Where: New Orleans Main Public Library, 219 Loyola Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70112. Participants will also be invited to a finale party at the Main Library on May 24.
Fee: The program fee is $15 per girl, and each girl will receive her own Get Moving book, two days of activities, and a Girl Scout membership, thanks to funding through a grant from Shell.
Capacity: 45 girls maximum

Notes: While the program is geared to girls new to the Girl Scout experience, current Girl Scouts can be placed on a waiting list and may attend if space is available.
