It’s your Story – Tell It! Leadership Journey Day

Open to girls, grades 4-12

Come participate in a day of activities and presentations that focus on the It’s Your Story – Tell it! Girl Scouts Leadership Journey, which uses a storytelling theme in a fun and relevant way for girls to better understand themselves and their potential. Keynote speaker is Gayle Benson, wife of New Orleans Saints owner Tom Benson.

Presenters include the NFL Saints Experience with fun and games, as well as female sports executives including the New Orleans Hornets, and other interactive presentations & hands on activities from NCAA Athletics, Thibodaux Playhouse, Nicholls State Family Service Center, Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Department, Nicholls State Choral and Music Department, the John Folse Culinary Institute, Nicholls State Department of Applied Sciences, and the Louisiana Center for Women and Government.

Building a strong sense of self is an underlying goal of this journey series. Other goals include girls learning about the benefits of a balanced diet and physical activity, navigating healthy relationships, identifying ways to express themselves, and promoting wellbeing and confidence in others.

Fee: $10 per girl, and there is no charge for adults to attend. You do not have to be working on this journey in order to participate in this event. The fee does not include lunch, but a full buffet style lunch to include salad bar, “home cooking,” pizza, drinks and more will be offered in the campus dining hall for those who preorder a meal voucher at $8 per person before the February 1 registration deadline.
