- Families & Volunteers
Attention adults and friends of Girl Scouting, age 16 or older! Become a Camp Champion! Attend our work day at Whispering Pines Sat., January 11 to help with “winterizing” CWP for the winter camping season. We will be doing such work items as attaching tarps and/or Visqueen to the cabins in Oak Ridge and Pine Hollow, installing “Plexiglas” panels in lodges, cleaning up and marking trails, cleaning up canoes/kayaks, and generally winterizing camp.
Volunteers will earn a new a “GSLE Camp Champions” hat, and a warm and tasty lunch will be provided. We’ll also have some GREAT door prizes as well. Don’t miss this great time enjoying each other’s company
Please bring items such as work gloves, lopping shears, cleaning rags, and equipment/tools to make this process easier. You can bring power tools if you are experienced with using them. GSLE Camp Champions who plan to help with the workday can spend the night at camp either the night before or after the clean up (unit fee waived). That will be on your own and you will need to follow the usual camping rules and procedures to do so. (FYI-GSLE Camp Champions days will be scheduled for Camp Marydale and Camp Covington in early spring 2014!)
Thanks for all you do and Thank You for joining the GSLE Camp Champions TEAM!!!!!
