Day Camps 2013


Enjoy all the fun of camp without spending the night. Girls get a taste of camp, make new friends and learn new skills. Check out the variety of locations and specialized themes developed and delivered by our regional volunteers.

Camp Camellia

“Cajun-Style”

WHEN: Monday, June 3 – Friday, June 7, 2013
TIME: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
LOCATION: Slidell — Serving the eastern St. Tammany Parish area
AGES: All girls entering grades K – 12; Boys (ages 5-12) & Pee-wee (ages 1– 4) units are available for children of full-time camp volunteers.
COST: $50 per registered Girl Scout (for non-Girl Scout add $12 membership fee);
$20 per Girl Scout Program Aide entering 8th grade;
$10 per child-Boys unit; $5 per child-Pee-wee unit (Cost includes T-shirt for girls)

Camp Crawfish goes to the NAVY!

WHEN: Monday, June 10 - Friday, June 14, 2013

TIME: 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
LOCATION: Belle Chasse — Serving all girls on the Westbank of Jefferson and Orleans Parishes
AGES: Campers are girls entering grades K – 6; Program Aides are girls entering grades 7 – 12; Pee-wee (ages 2 – 4) and Boys (ages 5 – 12) units available for children of full-time adult volunteers only.
COST:  $75 per Girl Scout (for non-Girl Scout add $12 membership fee); $37.50 per Girl Scout Program Aide (half price camp/half price T-shirt) non-Girl Scout add $12 membership fee; $25 per child in Pee-wee or Boys unit; $10 T-shirts for Pee-wees/Boys. Cost includes all program fees, arts and crafts supplies, a patch, and a song book. A $5 fee will be charged for late pickups after 4 p.m. No cash. Money orders and checks only.

Sew Easy Sew Fun Sewing Camp

WHEN: Monday, June 24 - Friday, June 28, 2013
TIME: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
LOCATION: In the Baton Rouge Program Center. Girls will need to bring bag lunch and drink.
AGES: Girl scouts finishing 3rd grade and up. Girls will learn to use the sewing machine and make several easy projects. Accommodations can be made for those with previous sewing experience to make more difficult projects.
COST: $50 per Girl Scout, $60 per non-Girl Scout. Girls will need to bring bag lunch and drink.

Camp Loblolly


"Summer Olympics 2013"

WHEN: Monday, June 24 - Friday, June 28, 2013
TIME: 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
LOCATION: Covington — Serving west St. Tammany Parish area
AGES: All girls entering grades 1st - 6th, Program Aides, entering grades 7th - 12th , Little Campers (ages 3-5 for full time staff only).
COST: $75 per registered Girl Scout (for non-Girl Scout add $12 membership fee); $40 per Program Aide (girls entering grades 7-12); $40 per child in Little Campers unit.

Day Camp Tangi

Girls Rock Nature

WHEN: Monday, July 8 - Friday, July 12, 2013
TIME: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
LOCATION: Independence — Serving Tangipahoa Parish
AGES: All girls entering grades K - 12; Girls are welcome to register with a friend!; Girls who are not a registered Girl Scout must register as a Girl Scout at the time of Day Camp Registration. **Boys (ages 6-12) and Pee-wee (ages 1-5) units will be provided for children of FULL TIME VOLUNTEER STAFF.
COST: $50 per registered Girl Scout **$40 per registered Girl Scout FULL TIME VOLUNTEER (for non-Girl Scout add $12 membership fee).
$15 per boy for FULL time staff
$5 per Pee-Wee for FULL time staff
$20 for Bus Ride
$10 per shirt for boys, Pee-Wee and additional

Days of Discovery - Lafourche

WHEN: Monday, July 8 - Friday, July 12, 2013

TIME: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
LOCATION: Thibodaux — Serving Lafourche Parish
AGES: All girls completing grades K - 12; Girls will participate individually, not as a troop. They will be placed in units with other girls of comparable age. Bring a friend! Girls who are not registered Girl Scouts must register at the time of Day Camp Registration. Placement of best friends together not guaranteed.
COST: $50 per registered Girl Scout, includes camp T-shirt

$62 Non-Girl Scouts (includes $12 membership fee). Does not guarantee placement in a troop.
$25 Program Aides - 8th-12th graders who choose to work camp instead of joining a unit. Prior completion of Program Aide course encouraged. Additional $12 if not registered Girl Scout member.

Camp Moonbeam "On the Go!"

WHEN: Monday, July 8 - Friday, July 12, 2013

TIME: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
LOCATION: TBD, Serving Mandeville, Covington, Madisonville and Lacombe
AGES: Girls entering 6th - 12th grade
COST: $150 currently registered Girl Scout campers (6th-12th graders),

$162 Non-registered Girl Scouts (includes $12 membership fee good through Sept. 30, 2013). Price includes patch, t-shirt, food and activities. Price may may vary depending on number of girls registered AND transportation - it will cost more if we have to get a bus.

Camp Aspire "It's Your Planet - Love It!

WHEN: Tuesday, July 16 - Thursday, July 18, 2013

TIME: 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
LOCATION: Grace King High School gymnasium

AGES: Girls entering grades K-7th; Program Aides: Girls entering grades 8-12

COST: $30 per registered Girl Scout (for non-Girl Scouts, add $12 membership fee); $10 per registered Girl Scout Program Aide.

Registration: Sunday, April 28, 1 - 3 p.m. at Girl Scouts Louisiana East headquarters, 841 S. Clearview Parkway, New Orleans, 70121.
