Camp Covington Beginners Resident Camp

Beginners Resident Camp is an ideal program for the beginning or first time camper. Held at Girl Scouts Louisiana East Camp Covington, the sessions are three days and two nights in length. These sessions are designed with the new camper in mind. Open for girls entering 1st grade – 4th grade. Girls will have so much fun meeting new friends and developing their camping skills. They participate in outdoor cooking, nature activities, campfires, songs, arts & crafts, and water activities. Daisies live in Pooh’s Corner, our cabin unit, while other girls occupy the platform tent area (once cabins are full).

All of the counselors at Camp Covington are fully trained and have participated at our other summer camps. They have a whole summers worth of ideas and songs to share with the campers. If you have any questions, please call the camp director Shannon "Echo" Bazor at 985-503-0025.

The cost of Beginners Resident Camp is $125/$137* per participant, per session. * Non-Girl Scouts, $12 additional for membership fee.

To Register

To register for Beginners Resident Camp a $50 deposit must accompany the registration form. Please mail all registration forms and deposit to the council. The council must have a completed Registration and Health Form on each girl. When a girl has been accepted, you will receive a confirmation information packet in the mail. Registration begins NOW!

Beginner Resident Camp Program Aides

Beginner Resident Camp Program Aides (Girls entering 7-10 grades) assist as program support for group leaders, work closely with the administrative staff and also help with unit and all-camp programs. Beginner Resident Camp Program Aides will need to fill out the registration form and submit to council. Beginner Resident Camp Program Aide fee: $75/$87*

 

Girls entering 1-4 Grades

* Non-Girl Scouts – $12 additional membership fee

Girl Scout Bonanza

Explore all that camp has to offer. Have fun sampling camp activities in this 3-day/2-night camp. This session is perfect for the first time campers. Swimming, songs, games, and crafts abound!

Camp What-cha-wanna-du

Help plan your 3-days at camp. Learn new songs, play games, even learn to tye-dye! Make plans to go to the beach, play in the sand and look for clay. There is so many things to choose from…. so WHAT-CHA-Wanna-DU?

Fireflies

Camp Covington is perfect for the first time camper…come join us as we look at the stars, play Frisbee, golf and play at the beach. Camp Covington has it all! We will play games sing songs and have a campfire with s'mores!
