Summer Day Camp 2019

Enjoy all the fun of camp without spending the night. Girls get a taste of camp, make new friends and learn new skills. Check out the variety of locations and specialized themes developed and delivered by our regional volunteers.  Information in the process of being updated.

Camp Loblolly "Once Upon a Day Camp”

When:  Monday, June 17 – Friday, June 21, 2019
Time: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Location: Camp Covington
Ages: Girls entering grades 1-8. Girls will be placed in units with girls of comparable age. Girls entering 7th and 8th grade will have the opportunity to earn an L.I.A. (Leadership in Action) badge.
Program Aides: Girls entering 9th grade through 12th grade. Girls must have completed a separate Program Aide training through Girl Scouts Louisiana East. This is a wonderful opportunity for these girls to develop their leadership skills while participating in tons of fun activities. A short Program Aide meeting will be held on Saturday, June 15. The overnight experience will be held on Thursday, June 20. Since there is limited space for this program, interested girls must complete an application. Girls will be notified if selected to participate as a Program Aide. Email Debbie Mela

Camp Fees if registered by May 5:
Girls entering 1st – 8th grade - $75
Program Aides – entering 9th – 12th grade - $30
Girls entering 1st – 8th grade of full-time camp volunteers - $40

Fees are payable upon registration. GSLE Cookie Dough may be used for camp fees. Checks payable to Day Camp Loblolly. No refunds. Price includes a camp t-shirt, camp patch, badge, all program fees, and snack each day. Lunch is not provided.  Please send a bag lunch and water bottle every day.

“Before Care” will be offered from 7:30 – 8:45. The cost is an additional $25 for the week. You must include the “Before Care” fee with your registration form. Cost includes continental breakfast each morning.

Days of Discovery, serving girls in Lafourche Parish

Days of Discovery – Lafourche

When: Monday, July 8 – Friday, July 12, 2019
Time: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Location: Thibodaux — Serving girls in Lafourche Parish
Ages: All girls completing grades K – 7; Girls will participate individually, not as a troop. Bring a friend! Girls who are not registered Girl Scouts must register at the time of Day Camp Registration. 
Fee: $60 Registered Girl Scouts—includes camp T-shirt.  
$85 Non-Registered Girl Scouts
 (includes $25 Girl Scout membership fee) Does not guarantee placement in a troop. Girls must re-register in the fall.
$95 Girls who have never been Girl Scouts before, registering May 1 or after, may select a $35 Girl Scout extended membership fee option, which covers membership through 9/30/20. Does not guarantee troop placement.
$25 Program Aides– 8th –12th graders who choose to work camp. Prior completion of Program Aide course encouraged. Additional $25 if not registered Girl Scout member.

Fees include a camp T-shirt which should be worn each day. Additional shirts may be purchased. $10 for youth sizes or adult S-XL. $12 for XXL or XXXL. Girls may use 2019 Cookie Dough for all or part of the fee. The certificate must be provided in order to process the request.

Sew Easy, Sew Fun Day Camp

Sew Easy, Sew Fun

Join us for Sew Easy, Sew Fun Day Camp as girls learn to use a sewing machine and make several take-home projects. Each girl will have the opportunity to make pillowcases, tote bags, drawstring bags and several other simple projects.  In fact, you’ll go home each day with a completed piece!  There will also be a service component completed during day camp. Space is limited to 20 participants so grab a friend and register today!

Camp Down in Da Parish, serving girls in St. Bernard Parish

This year's theme is STEAM (Science Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), with activities such as games, water fun, theme-related fun, arts & crafts and more. There's a day camp for girls, grades K-8, and an overnight camp option for girls, grades 4-12. Pee-wee unit for children of volunteer camp staff under 4 is available. Geek Squad Academy Summer Camp at Delgado

Geek Squad Academy (and more) Summer Day Camp presented by GIrl Scouts Louisiana East

For girls, ages 9 - 14

Spend two days in interactive workshops with the Delgado College of Automotive, Biotechnology, Sciences, LSU Health Dept. of Orthopedics, Tulane University School of Medicine, NOLA Code, Challenge Island and more.

Then we will join the Geek Squad Academy for two days of programming, web design, digital music and more! Friday will be spent in City Park enjoying activities in the Botanical Gardens, Sculpture Gardens, and New Orleans Museum of Art.

Older girl counselor positions and adult leaders needed to help facilitate.
