Girl Scouts to sell Cookie surplus April 7-10

Didn’t get enough Girl Scout Cookies this Cookie Season?  You are in luck – local Girl Scouts will be selling Girl Scout cookies at the council headquarters, 841 S. Clearview Parkway in Jefferson, on Friday, April 7 – Monday, April 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.  Cookies are $4 a package, with proceeds benefitting various Girl Scout troop trips, camp programs, and the iGive donation program. While the sale officially ended March 12, the local Girl Scouts have about 400 surplus cases of Girl Scout Cookies they’d like to sell.

For customers on a diet but who still wish to support Girl Scouts, the Girl Scouts iGive program provides cookies to troops overseas or local food banks. This year nearly 11,000 boxes of cookies have been donated so far to Blue Star Mothers, Second Harvest Food Bank, and the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. Proceeds for iGive supports the council’s Cookie to College scholarship program for cookie entrepreneurs graduating high school.
