Local Girl Scouts invites Pre-K and Kindergarten girls, parents to Daisy launch events

As parents prepare for their daughters to enter  Kindergarten this fall, what better way to acclimate than by getting their 4- or 5-year-old into a Girl Scout Daisy troop. Whether it’s planting a garden, conducting a science experiment, or just making new friends, participation in Girl Scout Daisies provides kindergarteners and first graders endless girl-led possibilities. Learn more about the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, at any one of these events in April/May. All events are from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. with the exception of Chalmette which is 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.:

      Saturday, April 27 at First Baptist Church, 305 E. St. Bernard Hwy, Chalmette 70043 (10 a.m. to 12 p.m.)

      Monday, April 29 at East New Orleans Library - 5641 Read Boulevard, New Orleans 70127

      Tuesday, April 30 at Milton Library, 5120 St. Charles Avenue, New Orleans 70115

      Thursday, May 2 at Keller Library, 4300 S. Broad Avenue, New Orleans 70125

      Tuesday, May 7 at Nora Library, 1902 St. Bernard Avenue, New Orleans 70116

      Thursday, May 9 at Norman Mayer Library, 3001 Gentilly Blvd., New Orleans 70122

      Tuesday, May 21 at Belle Chasse Library, 8442 Hwy 23, Belle Chasse 70037

Annual membership is $25 for girls and adults, but an extended membership option of $35 is available for a limited time which extends membership through September 2020.  General information about joining the Girl Scouts is available at www.gsle.org and girls may register to become Girl Scout Daisies at the events. Adults interested in volunteering are also encouraged to register.
