- Families & Volunteers
Thank you for volunteering to make a difference in the lives of girls. Volunteers make up the backbone of Girl Scouting, and we couldn’t do it without you. You are not alone. The structure of the Girl Scout council is designed to provide you with the support and help you need to do your job.
The Volunteer Essentials 2014-2015 is to be used as a reference following new leader support training. Do not neglect attending this meeting! The council volunteer forms are located in the Forms page under the Volunteer Resource Publications section.
Our annual Program Pathways is mailed to all Girl Scout households in late August/early September to help plan your Girl Scout year. Additional information can be found throughout the year in the Things to Do section. Click here to see for Program Pathways in magazine format!
Safety Activity Checkpoints, on our web site, offers in-depth safety guidelines and tips that adult volunteers use for Girl Scout sports and activities, ranging from canoeing to surfing to selling cookies. Girls can also use these checkpoints to ready their group for a girl-led activity.
The Blue Book of Basic Documents is published by Girl Scouts of the USA and includes the national constitution, by-laws, policies, and credential information.
GSLE Connections is our council’s newsletter which is printed and mailed three times a year to all currently registered members and donors of $50 or more.
Girl Scouts Louisiana East offers many free learning opportunities to THANK our volunteers and to help them gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to successfully facilitate a meaningful and safe Girl Scout experience. Though most courses are free, some may include a nominal expense for books, certifications or food necessary to complete the course.
Learning opportunities come in many forms: face to face, e-learning, online resources, discussions, conferences and more. After completing the required courses for your volunteer position, please continue your learning experience by selecting enrichment courses offered throughout the year.
Have you signed up to receive our monthly Council email newsletter? The automatic sign-up form is located here. Click here for past emails.
