Girl Scout fundraising luncheon set for November 11 in New Orleans
Southeast Louisiana Girl Scouts seek to raise funds to support Girl Scouting
Girl Scout volunteers, alumna, and friends of Girl Scouting are invited to attend Girl Scout Louisiana East’s fall fundraising luncheon on Wednesday, November 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Audubon Tea Room in New Orleans. Luncheon sponsors are Baptist Community Ministries, Capital One, Harrah’s New Orleans, and Lakelawn Metairie Funeral Home and Cemeteries.
With the luncheon scheduled for Veterans Day, the Girl Scouts have opted for a patriotic theme, with one guest speaker a Girl Scout alumnae recently returned from serving overseas in Iraq. Having the luncheon on Veterans Day will allow Girl Scouts to honor Americans who have given their lives in defense of our nation’s freedom at the same time as we meet to raise funds for Girl Scouts Louisiana East.
Table captains (those who host a table at the luncheon made up of their friends) are needed. If you are interested in serving as a table captain/host, please contact Cerise McClendon at (504) 733-8220, ext. 2222.
The council would also like to recognize all active and retired military in the luncheon program. Please email Cerise McClendon with your name, rank, military branch, and years of service so you can be properly recognized for your service to our country.
