What will you gain from attending this adult only event?
You can learn a variety of new skills! You can spend time relaxing at camp and reconnecting with nature! You will get to know other Girl Scout adults and create a new network of adult Girl Scout friends! Workshops conducted by skilled volunteers will cover topics to help enhance your experience as a Girl Scout! We will have workshops on fire building, knife safety, outdoor cooking, and Think Green! to help enhance your outdoor experience! We will create SWAPS, and learn ceremony ideas to take back to your girls! There will be workshops to develop your skills with the Journeys and incorporating the Girl Scout Leadership Experience into all of your activities with your girls! We will share stories and have a great time getting to know one another though various group activities!
Read what some participants said about the 2009 Weekend at Camp Whispering Pines:
“I enjoyed it so much, I wish I could be at camp every weekend. There is something about Girl Scouts that just makes you feel at home, no matter where or who you are with. It truly is a family. I really enjoyed getting to know everyone. Opened my eyes to many new ways and experiences with Girl Scouts as an adult/alumnae.”
“I'm so glad I went. It was hard to get away even for the day. I can't wait to use my new training. I met new people and have new ideas for my troop. It was encouraging to see so many involved leaders.”
“I had a wonderful time. This is my first year as a leader and although I was a Girl Scout when I was younger, this weekend refreshed my memory or introduced traditions, and all kinds of stuff that I didn't realize I was forgetting. It was certainly a memorable weekend and I look forward to attending next year!!!”
