Fall Product Sale begins Friday!
The Training for the council's Fall Product Sale of nuts, candies, magazines, and address booklets which starts this Friday (October 2) through October 25 went great, but if you didn't get a chance to make the training and your troop wants to participate in the sale, check out the troop fall product training video on the website!
Contact your Service Unit fall product manager for additional girl packets, or Alisha Moore, Product Sales Director, at (504) 733-8220, ext. 2241.
The sale is a great way to earn start-up money for your troop! All orders are prepaid, and there are no booth sales. The troop earns $1 for every item sold and $2 for every address booklet completed (one per girl) and $2 for every magazine sold.
Troop numbers are now five digits!
Important: When entering fall product sale information in the Nut-e website, please be sure and use your five digit troop number. All troops in the council are now five digits long. Troop numbers were expanded to include their region number first then their troop number. This was done since there were troops with the same number after the realignment. For example Troop 592 in New Orleans is now Troop 40592 since New Orleans is located in Region 4. Troop 53 in Baton Rouge for example would now be Troop 10053 since Baton Rouge is located in Region 1. Click here to see region designations.

Annual Family Giving Campaign
The Annual Family Giving Campaign is in full swing. Thank you to the many families who have donated. You are the reason why Girl Scouts Louisiana East can provide the best program for our girls, but we still are a long way from achieving our goal. Now, for a quick couple of questions!
Question 1:
How proud would your girls feel to carry their troop flag?
Each troop has the opportunity to receive a troop flag when the troop meets their campaign goal!
Troop goals, troop tally sheets (which each troop completes and turns in to their Service Unit Giving Captain) are all located on the council website here!
Question 2:
Have your troop’s parents seen the Annual Family Giving Campaign video?
Each Troop Campaign Manager should be making a campaign presentation to the parents of our Girl Scouts. We've even added the video to the website! You can even donate online! Please make sure to include your favorite Girl Scout’s troop number and service unit number, if known.
Question 3:
Are you a member of Club 49?
All families, who donate $49 or more, are members of the club. Many have already received vouchers to our program events. Join today! Don’t miss out on all the fun!!
Breast Cancer Awareness
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Some of you may think our girls are too young to learn about this disease, but many of our girls have had family friends, grandmothers, aunts, cousins, older sisters, and yes, even mothers diagnosed with breast cancer. Your troop can help spread awareness by making posters, making pink ribbons; Older girls can also complete the “In the Pink” interest project at www.studio2b.org/lounge/gs_stuff/ip_pink.asp.
