9/25/08
The first weekend of October Camps Whispering Pines and Marydale will be re-opening up for troop camping and outdoor trainings! At CWP, Tall Winds will remain closed due to the latrine being severely damaged (actually demolished).
Fall is the BEST time for camping! A BIG thank you to our rangers at these facilities who have been working SO hard to get camp back up and running!

Baton Rouge and New Orleans office hours will resume regular hours (8:30am to 4:30pm) on Monday, September 15.
9/12/08
Due to Hurricane Ike and possible streets flooding, the New Orleans and Baton Rouge offices will be closed Friday, September 12. Office hours will resume on Monday, September 15.
9/11/08
The New Orleans office is closed Friday, September 12, because of concern about street flooding. Due to damage caused by Hurricane Gustav, Camp Whispering Pines and Camp Marydale are both closed for the remainder of September to allow for camp clean-up and tree removal. Troop and service unit camping and troop camping trainings that were originally scheduled on the camp properties have been cancelled.

Trainings will resume on 9/15/08 as scheduled. If you were registered for a cancelled training, please register for the next convenient class.
9/8/08
Due to storm damage, the Regional Service Center in Baton Rouge will be open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the week of September 8. Corporate Headquarters in New Orleans will operate under its normal business hours.
Trainings have been cancelled for the week.
9/2/08
Both the Council Headquarters in New Orleans and the Regional Service Center in Baton Rouge will be closed the remainder of the week, to reopen on Monday, September 8, to allow for electricity to be restored and staff to return following evacuations.
The Sept. 6 Fall Product Sale Rally at Global Wildlife has been cancelled.
