Awards
Through Girl Scouting, each girl is encouraged to become a stronger
member of her own religious denomination, and every Girl Scout group
recognizes that religious instruction is the responsibility of parents
and religious leaders.
Religious
award programs are always developed and administered by religious
groups themselves. Work on the religious recognitions should be done
outside the troop meeting. A special meeting should be called if a
large number of the girls in the troop want to work on a particular
religious award program. Individual girls work with an advisor to
complete this award. Religious awards are earned by girls with the
guidance of their leader, pastor, priest, rabbi or other spiritual
leader. This provided a wonderful opportunity for personal and spiritual
growth.
