Summer 2012 Programs

Geek Squad Summer Academy is coming to Baton Rouge August 2-3

Summer just got a little "cooler" for girls interested in the latest in technology. Best Buy's Geek Squad Summer Academy is being offered to girls, ages 10 to 14, in Baton Rouge, Thursday, August 2 - Friday, August 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at McKinley Middle Magnet School. Click here for more.

Summer 2012 promises to be more exciting than ever with NEW, fantastic choices to match every girl’s interests. We are offering day camps, resident camps, special events AND travel.

Caring staff & volunteers have been recruited to work with our girls to ensure FUN, SAFETY, and LEADERSHIP stays front and center of all activities! These staff and volunteers are here to help girls uncover their potential, cultivate dreams and build new skills they can use for success today and in the future.

Girl Scouts Louisiana East wants you to be part of a FABULOUS summer of fun. Take a look at the variety of activities, listed below, available for your girl.

Day Camps

Enjoy all the fun of camp without spending the night. Girls get a taste of camp, make new friends and learn new skills. Check out the variety of locations and specialized themes developed and delivered by our regional volunteers.

Resident Camp

Our summer overnight camps offer something for every age and interest. Your girl could go horseback riding, climb a rock wall, ride a zip-line through the pines, learn to canoe or kayak, explore nature or hit a bull’s-eye on the archery range. She may learn to cook a new dish in a box oven, develop babysitting skills, take swim lessons, paint a mural on a horse or star in a campfire play! Many girls start with a short 3-day overnight camp where they can play outdoors with a friend from their troop, or a new buddy. Soon they look forward to a week or two of camp that increases their independence and offers unparalleled opportunities. This summer, we hope your daughter dives into fun with us!
