Here's a math equation for you! No school equals time for fun! There will be lots to choose from for this summer vacation! Girls will be swimming, playing tennis, conducting experiments,  doing AMAZEing things!

Geek Squad Summer Academy is coming to Baton Rouge August 2-3 and New Orleans, August 25-26

Summer just got a little "cooler" for girls interested in the latest in technology. Best Buy's Geek Squad Summer Academy is being offered to girls, ages 10 to 14, in Baton Rouge, Thursday, August 2 - Friday, August 3 and in New Orleans Saturday, August 25-26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Click here for more.

Start your summer off with a SPLASH!

Together with the YMCA Capital Area Girl Scouts Louisiana East is proud to offer SPLASH - Learn to Swim Program!

YMCA Splash Week consists of four, 30-minute sessions each day of the week. Targeted at both children and parents, the sessions teach water safety practices and basic swimming skills. Sessions are offered throughout the day to accommodate parents’ schedules: morning, afternoon, and evening sessions are available.

Once you complete your SPLASH week, you are encouraged to register for reduced cost swim lessons!  In the swim lessons, you will improve your swim strokes and enjoy the YMCA pools. More information will be provided after registration.

AGES: All girls ages 5 – 11
COST:
$2 per girl.  Price covers full week of SPLASH sessions.
CAPACITY:
Minimum 12, Maximum 48 participants per location; 12 per time slot.
REGISTRATION OPENS: Sunday, April 15, 2012
DEADLINE: May 16, 2012 or when maximum capacity is reached.

Then start your journey here! 

Join the United States Tennis Association for a day of fast paced action as you discover the world of tennis!  Professional instructors will teach fundamentals of the game and describe how you can improve your backhand, or just hit it over the net!  This non-competitive workshop is ideal for learning the game or improving your game and having a day of fun on the courts!

AGES: All girls ages 6 – 14
COST:
$7per girl. Price includes use of all needed equipment and free USTA memberships to girls 10 & under. Information regarding Jr. Team Tennis team participation opportunities will be available. Girls should bring their own water supply and snacks.

SEW EASY SEW FUN

 
Want to learn the basics of Sewing. For those who thought sewing was a lost art or thought they could never learn to sew, think again. This program will teach basic sewing principles with step by step hands on instruction. Make several fun and easy projects. Stitch for others by completing a service project.

AGES: Girls entering grades 4th through 12th
COST:
$100 per week or $112 for non Girl Scout.
REGISTRATION OPENS: Now
REGISTRATION: Girls may register for one week or all four weeks. The Intermediate class will introduce some new skills and be better suited to someone who has been in camp before or has completed fourth grade.but girls will be welcomed any week.
