Troop Camping Training
Welcome to Troop Camping! We offer several troop camping courses, so as you and the girls progress from camping at one of our camp properties to a trip farther away, you are properly prepared for a safe and fun experience.
Troop Camping I consists of two sessions - a session in the classroom followed by another session overnight in a camping setting. Course topics include health and safety considerations for camping with groups, budgeting, group dynamics in the out-of-doors, progression, program and environmental activities, outdoor skills and minimal impact camping. Emphasis is placed on learning to teach skills to girls.
Remember every troop must have a trained outdoor leader before planning for a day outing with a cookout or a camping trip. Progression is the critical component to guide girls in outdoor education – we want them to be self-sufficient with trained guidance.
Course Schedule:
Troop Camping II - Advanced Camping Skills
Troop Camping III - Backpacking
Troop Camping IV - Trekking
