Open to girls, grades 5-8
The Louisiana Firefighters Foundation is a Sitter Superstars: Safe in Charge workshop at the GSLE DreamLab. This course is designed for students in grades 5th to 8th. Safe & in Charge covers basic life safety, childcare, business skills, basic CPR, first aid, and choking. This is not just a course for those looking to become #sittersuperstars, all are welcome that want to be more equipped for all that life can throw at them! The program aligns with the Babysitter badge. (Steps 1, 2,and 4; Steps 3 and 5 are own you own).
These two GSLE events (September 7 and December 7) are free of charge due to Healthy Blue and The Safety Place sponsorships.
Please bring a sack LUNCH and DRINK that do not require refrigeration. Parents/Guardians must accompany students into the classroom to sign students in and out. Only Instructors and Students will be allowed in the classroom once the course starts. This includes the lunch breaks. You will be kneeling on the floor for some sections of the course, so please wear comfortable clothing. Class is planned to end at 3:00 with a Graduation Ceremony schedule to start right after.
