Get Ready for Girl Scouts Louisiana East's Volunteer Kickoff 2024!

Join us for a one-day event designed to energize and empower our dedicated volunteers! This year, we're thrilled to introduce a new concept created by our Volunteer and Staff Led Task Group. We will focus on four key areas essential to our mission and further motivates us to GROW. UNITE. THRIVE.

Whether you're a seasoned volunteer, new to Girl Scouts, or somewhere in between, this year's kickoff promises to be enriching and beneficial to all. Embrace the opportunity to be part of the new GSLE Volunteer Cohort, where you'll connect with leaders from various regions, service units, and levels of experience. While attending four curated sessions, you will create opportunities to network, and together, we'll make kickoff an unforgettable experience that will inspire and equip you for another amazing year with the Girl Scouts!"

Back again this year, Girl Scout University: Empowering Future Leaders, where Senior and Ambassador girls will engage in four transformative sessions led by our esteemed board members and CEO Dr. Rebecca Pennington. Build confidence in "Leadership and Empowerment," explore careers in "Career Exploration and Networking," learn about impactful projects in "Community Service and Advocacy," and gain financial and entrepreneurial skills in "Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship." Join us for a day of growth, inspiration, and empowerment to shape your future as a leader and change-maker.

Session 1: Growing Our Sisterhood: Sharing the gift of Girl Scouting

Step into a session brimming with fresh ideas and creative approaches to share the gift of Girl Scouts with your community. "Sharing the Gift of Girl Scouts" will guide you through modern methods that resonate with today's youth and their families. From digital outreach to community engagement, discover effective techniques and hear success stories from fellow troop leaders who have mastered the art of introducing Girl Scouts. This session promises to equip you with the tools and inspiration needed to highlight the benefits of the Girl Scout experience and welcome new girls into our enriching world.

Session 2: Keeping the Spark Alive: Secrets to Girl Engagement Through the Years

Dive into the dynamic world of girl engagement with "Keeping the Spark Alive." This session is dedicated to helping you build and maintain strong, lasting relationships within your troop, with a special focus on keeping girls engaged as they grow older. Explore innovative ways to foster a sense of belonging and loyalty through age-appropriate activities and leadership opportunities. Through interactive discussions, hands on planning and practical tips, you'll learn how to evolve your approach to meet the changing interests and needs of your members. Session 3: Empower & Inspire: Elevating the Girl Experience

Join us for "Empower & Inspire," a session designed to elevate every aspect of the Girl Experience. This hands-on workshop will provide you with the skills to design engaging and impactful activities that align with Girl Scout values. From STEM projects to outdoor adventures and community service, discover how to create programs that empower girls and inspire their potential. Learn from experts and share ideas with fellow volunteers to ensure every girl in your troop has a memorable and transformative scouting journey. Leave this session with volunteer crafted assets to help you plan a year of fun with your girls!

Session 4: Timeless Treasures: Embracing the Past, Building Our Future

Celebrate the rich history and cherished traditions of Girl Scouts in "Timeless Treasures." This session is all about honoring our heritage while finding meaningful ways to incorporate traditions into modern troop activities. Participate in crafting sessions, learn traditional songs, and explore the stories that have shaped the Girl Scouts over the years. Whether you're a new volunteer or a seasoned leader, you'll leave with a deeper appreciation of our legacy and practical ideas to bring the spirit of our traditions alive in your troop.

  • Fee: Adults--Early Bird, $20 until July 5th, 5 am, after 5 am on July 5th, $25 per adult, Senior and Ambassodors, $10
