Evaluate your project idea by asking these three questions:
1. Advocacy: “Are you raising awareness of an issue within your community?”
2. Education: “Are you letting others within your community know how they can help combat this issue?”
3. Sustainability: “Is your project legacy continuing after you have completed your project?”
A note:
Please be aware that Girl Scout Bronze, Silver, and Gold Award project reports will only be accepted if they identify a community need and describe how girls addressed the issues causing the need. Reports should reflect how girls connected with their local and global communities. These reports must be typed, and answers to the questions need to be reflective, explanatory, descriptive and detailed. Projects will only be accepted if they indicate a public education component focusing on the issue, as well as an evaluation method or data for measuring advocacy and awareness the project has generated. Highest Awards are bestowed upon Girl Scouts who are intentional in finding a way to truly impact their community and thorough in their documentation of that effort. Remember, as Girl Scouts, you cannot raise funds for other organizations. You are able to donate supplies and funds to an organization, but any funds raised must be raised to support your troop or project.
