When you participate in the Girl Scout Cookie Program, you’re part of something even bigger than you, your troop, and all the amazing girls nationwide that sell too; you’re part of the largest girl-led entrepreneurial program in the world! Having the opportunity to run your very own cookie business gives you skills essential for success today and in the future.

While it is the participation in the Cookie Program that provides troops their funding for troop activities, trips, and community service or take action projects, girls also receive individual recognitions for their hard work during Cookie Season. Recognitions are also known as incentives or rewards and include items like patches, T-shirts, Cookie Dough (what we call our Council credits), and more! Top awards include a free week at resident camp, an event with our CEO, and a brand new bike!
GSLE Cookie Dough can be used in our physical shop or for activity/program/camping fees/membership fees. (excludes Early Bird Registration).
GSLE Cookie Dough cannot be used for online purchases. Cookie Dough expires September 30 after the Cookie Season from which it was rewarded.
Main Recognition Plan
The council offers an optional Virtual Cookie Share for the Cookie Program, with cookies going to Baton Rouge Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank, and Blue Star Mothers.
The council delivers the cookies; volunteers and girls do not handle any of these boxes.
Many Girl Scout troops participate in Cookie Share, a community service project in which girls encourage customers to buy cookies for donation to a non-profit organization selected by the troop. This year, over 6,048 boxes of cookies were donated to more than 200 local community organizations and non-profits, such as the Ronald McDonald House in New Orleans, the Bishop Ott Women and Children’s Shelter in Baton Rouge, MacDonnell Children's Services in Houma, local food banks, firefighters, police, and hospitals, as well as a significant number of cookies going to military men and women serving overseas, sending them through organizations like Operation We Care and Blue Star Mothers of LA, as well as to units where Girl Scouts had family members and friends.
