Open to registered adults
Is your Troop spending the night somewhere besides our GSLE
Camps?
Whether is a single night sleepover or more, at least one
registered and screened adult volunteer per troop taking a troop/group
needs special GSLE training.
This training, GSLE's Passport to Troop Travel (in person), course must be completed every (5) years. There are a variety of ways that Girl Scouts can participate in travel. They can plan a trip with their troop, they can travel with a group of Girl Scouts that have come together specifically to travel, or they can participate in Destinations, national or international trips set up by GSUSA for individual girls.
Whatever avenue they choose to explore is the Adult Volunteer/Travel
Consultant's job to guide them through the process. This course will
prepare you for this position.
Remember every troop/group must
have a trained Travel Consultant who has completed the Passport to
Troop Travel course before planning an overnight trip outside of GSLE Camps.
Passport to Troop Travel is a (face to face) 2 hour session. Course
topics include program implementation, how to partner with girls,
setting realistic timelines, budgeting and money earning, trip
preparation, and information on the Global-Local Connection.
Preregistration is required!
