Registration opens Friday, January 14 for Get Outdoors Girl Scouts Camp!
This summer, get outdoors at GSLE’s overnight resident camp at Camp
Marydale. When you sign up for camp, you sign up for the adventure of
a lifetime as you learn new skills, practice your favorite ones, and
make new friends!
At Camp Marydale, you can choose "Sampler Camp" and get
the chance to swim, ride a horse, boat in the lake, cook over a
campfire, and more! Or you can choose "Horse" Camp for a
focused horse session, and you will spend time each day at the barn
learning about the Marydale horse herd and riding in the arena and on
trails and enjoy other camp activities in the evening! Whether you
choose "Sampler" or "Horse" sessions you will
leave camp with a variety of earned badges to show what you learn when
you GET OUTDOORS!
Summer Resident Camp sessions will run throughout the months of June
and July. Space is limited for campers currently in grades 1-12, so
don't wait to get your girl registered.
While camp
modifications will be in place as we continue to combat the spread of
COVID-19, girls should come ready to play, explore, discover, and make
lifelong memories.
We know parents and guardians have a
lot to consider during this time, but please know there is nothing
GSLE takes more seriously than the safety and wellbeing of our girls,
volunteers and staff. We are listening to experts, taking the
necessary precautions, and implementing protocols in order to provide
the safest possible experience at our beloved Camp Marydale this
summer. All campers and staff must be current on all vaccinations,
including COVID-19.
Camp Modifications for 2022:
How we're keeping girls safe!
There is nothing GSLE takes more seriously than the safety and
wellbeing of our girls, volunteers and staff. Several camp
modifications will be in place as we continue to combat the spread of
COVID-19. Changes include:
All camp staff will be fully vaccinated.
Girls will
operate within age-group cohorts and receive daily health
check-ins
Girls will receive personalized supplies to
minimize sharing materials
All meals will take place in
open air areas
All campers and staff must be current on all
vaccinations, including COVID-19.
Camp will be deep-cleaned
and disinfected daily, with handwashing and disinfecting stations
for girls placed throughout the property.
Space is limited for campers currently in grades 1-12, so please
don't wait to get your girl registered!

Any active registered Girl Scout in Girl Scouts Louisiana East may
apply for camp fee assistance to attend one camp session. Please
complete the Girl
Scout Camp Financial Assistance Request by April 15.
Camp Counselors
Our counselors are selected based on their program skills, maturity,
education, caring attitude, and experience with children. Counselors
are primarily college students, both female and male, with male
counselors housed in separate quarters. Program areas, such as ropes
course, horses, swimming and boating, are directed by certified and
trained staff. All of our staff must successfully complete pre-camp
staff training, pass background screening, and become members of Girl
Scouts of the USA.
Camp Accreditation
Girl Scout Louisiana East Camp Marydale and Camp Covington are all
accredited by the American Camp Association. Accreditation means that
each camp undergoes a thorough review process by outside camping
professionals every three years. Our Girl Scout camps consistently
achieve the highest standards in the areas of personnel, program, site
administration, and health care.
