Open to girls, grades K-3
Attention Daisy and Brownie Catholic Girls Scout families of the Diocese of Baton Rouge. Counselors from the Catholic Committee of Scouting - Baton Rouge will be hosting sessions where Daisys and Brownies can earn their Religious Emblems. Girl Scouts from the Archdiocese of New Orleans and Diocese of Houma/Thibodaux may attend as well.
The sessions will be held at St. Mark's Church (Gonzales) campus on the following dates: February 22nd, March 29th, April 26th and May 31st. Caregivers will need to attend some of the sessions along with their Girl Scouts. Please note only the Feb. 22 will be on the GSLE Calendar.
Daisy's will work on the God Is Love emblem: The God Is Love program is designed for use with students who are in kindergarten or first grade. The program helps students discover an appreciation that God created, cares for, and loves us all.
Brownies will work on the Family of God emblem: Family of God is the official religious recognition program of the Roman Catholic Church for children grades 2-3. The program helps children discover the presence of God in their daily lives as members of their family and parish.
Once completed the Girl Scouts will receive their emblems on August 23, 2026, at St. Joseph's Cathedral in Baton Rouge.
The Cost of the program is $5 to cover materials. Payment will be accepted on Feb. 22. Each girl will get their own workbook. If you have questions or want more information on this program, contact Tracy Yoes at tracyyoes@gmail.com.
