Billy’s Herd: Help Every Girl Find Her Billy
Every Girl Scout has a story that stays with her. For Dr. Rebecca Pennington, that story began at camp with a horse named Billy. For another girl, her “Billy” may be discovering a love of STEM, finding confidence through a troop leader who believes in her, making lifelong friends around a campfire, or realizing for the first time that she is capable of more than she imagined.
Billy’s Herd is about creating more of those life-changing moments for girls across southeast Louisiana. As we prepare to celebrate 180 years of Girl Scout camp legacy—100 years of Camp Covington and 80 years of Camp Marydale—we’re inviting 180 founding supporters to help carry that legacy forward.
Gifts to Billy’s Herd provide flexible, mission-critical funding that strengthens troops, supports volunteers, expands access to camp, STEM, leadership programs, community outreach, financial assistance, and so much more.
